We all know that we can change our workouts and diet according to our requirements, but there is one thing that we can’t change is blood type, which is inherited from your parents. Blood is made of basic elements and blood type is based on the specific mix of antibodies and antigens present in the blood cells. Most people think that knowing your blood type is important for medical emergencies, but no one knows that blood type will reveal about a health condition. So, depending on the blood type we can find out the risk of a variety of health conditions. Although you can’t change blood type, it is helpful to know the added risks.
There are four main blood types such as A, B, AB and O. Type O is the most common blood group whereas AB is the rarest blood group in the world. Here is how your blood type could affect your health.
Type O blood:
Type O is a common and special blood type as O negative blood is used to treat people with any type of blood group due to its antigens. People with O negative blood type can perform regular donations and known as a universal donor. O blood type have neither A nor B antigens on red cells, but both A and B antibodies in your plasma. Recent studies have shown that woman with type O should check their fertility status as they have poor egg quality and count. Also, they are more prone to ulcers, mosquito bites, cholera and sluggish blood flow. But luckily, they are at a lower risk for pancreatic cancer and malaria.
Type A blood:
Type A blood has A antigens on red cells and B antibodies in the plasma. People with type A blood can perform donations to type A and type AB. Recent studies have shown that people with type A blood are more at a risk of suffering from stress, higher cortisol levels, stomach cancer, heart disease, pancreatic cancer, blood clots and leukemia. And type A blood people are also prone to smallpox infections and malaria. Compared to type O blood people are less magnetic to mosquitoes. So, it is better to dedicate some time to practice some relaxing sports and yoga.
Type B blood:
Type B blood has B antigens on red cells and A antibodies in the plasma. People with type B blood can donate blood to a person with type B and AB. Individuals with B type blood are more prone to slow growing infections like lupus, MS and chronic fatigue, autoimmune diseases like chronic fatigue syndrome, and less prone to heart attack and cancer. Compared to other blood groups B type blood people should considerable diet choices and exercises to lead a healthy life. Some of the dietary recommendations include eliminating wheat products, nuts, and seeds.
Type AB blood:
People with AB blood type have both A and B antigens on red cells, but neither A nor B antibody in the plasma. AB positive blood type individuals are called as universal plasma donors. Studies have proven that type AB people are more likely to have difficulties with memory recall, attention, anemia, heart disease, bronchial infections, stomach cancer and weak immune system. Pregnant lady with AB blood type is expected to suffer from blood pressure, sugar, and cholesterol. So, keeping mind sharper is essential to lead a healthy life.
